NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED

INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT CONCERNING SEWER

CONNECTIONS AND SEWER SERVICE

 

Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the sewage works of the Northern Parke Regional Sewer District (“District”) are hereby notified that the Board of Trustees of the District will hold a public hearing on December 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. local time at the Marhsall Fire House, 101 W Guion Street, Marshall, Indiana, in order to receive public input on a proposed Interlocal Agreement Concerning Sewer Connections and Sewer Service by and among the District, the Town of Rockville, Indiana, the Town of Marshall, Indiana and the Town of Bloomingdale, Indiana (the “Interlocal Agreement”).  The Interlocal Agreement provides, among other matters, that sewage service from the District’s sewage works system will be treated by the Town of Rockville, Indiana and that the District will require connection to its sewage works system of property owners in the District, including in the Towns of Marshall and Bloomingdale, who are within 300 feet of the system and who do not otherwise qualify for an exemption from connection to the system.  As more particularly described in the Interlocal Agreement, a property owner may be exempted from connection if they own a septic system that was new at the time of installation, approved by the board of health and is not currently failing.  The Interlocal Agreement further provides that the estimated monthly user rate for service from the District’s system will be $100.

 

At the December 3, 2025 meeting of the Board, any property owners, ratepayers or anyone else interested in the proceedings may appear and be heard concerning the proposed Interlocal Agreement.  The hearing may be adjourned if necessary.  A complete copy of the Interlocal Agreement may be reviewed at the offices of the District at 103 West High Street, Rockville, Indiana.
