PROCEDURE TO VACATE A PLATTED STREET OR ALLEY
LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE AN ALLEY/STREET

Dear Property Owner:

Notice is hereby given that Janice Reedy, William Ramsey, Gilford Hudgens has filed with the Vermillion County Board of Commissioners a petition requesting vacation of an alley/street in Clinton Township, Vermillion County, Indiana, further described as:

Beginning at the SE Corner of Lot 11 in West Clinton thence south 14′ to the NE . Corner of Lot 66 in West Clinton, thence West 540′ to the NW corner of Lot 58 in West Clinton, thence North 14′ to the SW Corner of lot 19 in West Clinton then East 540′ to the place of beginning. Containing 0.17 acres more or less.

Records in the Vermillion County Auditor’s Office indicate that you own property adjacent to the alley/street described above. Therefore, you are being sent this notice to advise you that the Vermillion County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on this petition at 6:00 pm in the Commissioners Courtroom, second floor of the Vermillion County Courthouse in Newport on the 6th day of May 2025. At the time and place all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.

No person, firm, corporation, public employee or body politic shall contact any member of the board of commissioners orally, or in writing, in advance of the public hearing regarding a petition pending before the board. Any such person, firm corporation, public employee or body politic may appear in person, by agent, or by attorney at this public hearing and submit evidence or present testimony regarding the petition where the opposing party is permitted to present rebuttal evidence and testimony.

A copy of thie petition may be examined in the Auditor’s Office between the houses of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday.
