Legal Notice – Adoption and Content of Resolutions of the Parke County Redevelopment Commission
NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS AND ALL OTHER PERSONS AFFECTED OF ADOPTION AND CONTENT OF RESOLUTIONS OF THE PARKE COUNTY REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ON AMENDING DECLARATORY RESOLUTIONS
Taxpayers of the Parke County Redevelopment District, and all other persons affected hereby, are notified that the Parke County Redevelopment Commission (“Commission”), did: (i) on July 25, 2006, adopt a declaratory resolution (“Central Parke Declaratory Resolution”), as confirmed by a confirmatory resolution adopted on September 26, 2006 (together with the Central Parke Declaratory Resolution, the “Central Parke Area Resolution”), establishing the Central Parke Economic Development Area (“Central Parke Area”) and an allocation area (“Central Parke Allocation Area”) in accordance with IC 36-7-14-39 for the purpose of capturing property taxes generated from the incremental assessed value of real property and depreciable personal property of designated taxpayers located in the Central Parke Allocation Area and approving the Economic Development Plan (“Central Parke Plan”) for the Central Parke Area which Central Parke Plan contained specific recommendations for economic development in the Central Parke Area; and (ii) on November 26, 2006, adopt a declaratory resolution (“West Central Parke Declaratory Resolution”), as confirmed by a confirmatory resolution adopted on January 30, 2007 (together with the West Central Parke Declaratory Resolution, the “West Central Parke Area Resolution”), establishing the West Central Parke Economic Development Area (“West Central Parke Area”) and an allocation area (“West Central Parke Allocation Area”) in accordance with IC 36-7-14-39 for the purpose of capturing property taxes generated from the incremental assessed value of real property and depreciable personal property of designated taxpayers located in the West Central Parke Allocation Area and approving the Economic Development Plan (“West Central Parke Plan”) for the West Central Parke Area which West Central Parke Plan contained specific recommendations for economic development in the West Central Parke Area;
The Central Parke Area Resolution and the West Central Parke Area Resolution are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Area Resolutions.” The Central Parke Area and the West Central Parke Area are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Areas.” The Central Park Plan and the West Central Parke Plan are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Original Plans.”
On April 23, 2024, the Commission adopted its Central Parke Amending Declaratory Resolution and West Central Parke Amending Declaratory Resolution (collectively, “Amending Declaratory Resolutions”), amending the Area Resolutions and respective Original Plans to add: (i) the acquisition of certain real property parcels as set forth on Exhibit A attached to the respective Area Resolutions; and (ii) the acquisition and renovation of an existing building to serve as County offices, together with all necessary appurtenances, related improvements and equipment (collectively, “Projects”), all in, serving or benefiting the respective Areas, to the list of projects in the respective Original Plans.
The Amending Declaratory Resolutions and supporting data, including maps of the Areas, have been prepared and can be inspected at the office of the Department of Redevelopment, 116 West High Street, Rockville, Indiana.
Notice is further given that the Commission on May 28, 2024, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., local time, in the Parke County Annex 1, 110 E High Street, Rockville, Indiana, will receive and hear remonstrances from persons interested in or affected by the proceedings pertaining to the Amending Declaratory Resolutions, the Projects to be included in the respective Original Plans and determine the public utility and benefit of such actions. At the time fixed for hearing or at any time prior thereto any person interested in the proceedings may file a written remonstrance with the Secretary of the Commission in the Department of Redevelopment. At such hearing, which may be adjourned from time to time, the Commission will hear all persons interested in the proceedings and all remonstrances that have been filed. After considering this evidence, the Commission will take final action by eitherconfirming, modifying and confirming, or rescinding the Amending Declaratory Resolution.
