Legal Notice – Parke Trails Alliance, Notice to Bidders

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

 

Notice is hereby given that the Parke Trails Alliance (PTA), by and through the Project Manager Mark A. Davis, will receive sealed bids for the rehabilitation of:

 

Parke Community Rail Trail Section 2 and

Whipple Truss Bridge Rehabilitation

Between Jessup Rd and Catlin

Florida and Raccoon Townships

Parke County, Indiana

 

Sealed proposals will be received at the office of Engineer ALIGN CEC Inc., 525 West Honey Creek Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802 until 3:30 PM (Local time) on the 23rd day of February 2024. Any proposals received after the above designated time will be returned unopened.

 

The owner will host an optional Prebid meeting on Tues. Feb. 13, 10:00 am, at the Whipple Truss Bridge, Mansfield Rd, Bridgeton, IN (39.651893, -87.158380).  Additionally, site visits may be coordinated any time prior to bid by contacting Mark Davis at 765-592-7279, or by email at kandmdavis@gmail.com.

 

The proposed PCRT Section 2 and Whipple Truss Bridge rehabilitation tasks may include: clearing, earthwork, placement of stone trail surface,  traffic control, placement of sediment and erosion control, guardrail removal and replacement, site preparation and remediation at both bridge removal and reassembly locations, Raccoon Township; truss bridge lift and remove, bridge disassembly, and stone abutment remove, transportation of bridge and stone abutment, Florida Township; supply and install concrete end bents, repair iron, reassemble structural steel,  reassemble bridge deck and railing, clean and paint bridge, supply and install bearing assemblies, and set rehabilitated bridge, all as more fully set forth in the Plans, Standard Specifications, and Special Provisions.

 

All proposals must be submitted on the prescribed State Board of Accounts Form No. 96 together with the proper forms included in the Contract Documents, the entire set of which shall be filed intact as a bid.

 

The Contract Documents, including Plans and Specifications, are on file (for viewing) at the office of Engineer ALIGN CEC Inc., 525 West Honey Creek Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802. SECURITY: Any person, firm or corporation who submits a proposal MUST file with their bid a CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK DRAFT, CASHIER’S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER issued by a financial institution insured by an agency of the United States in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Treasurer of PTA.  In lieu of the above, any person, firm or corporation who submits a proposal and has a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MAY file with their proposal a BOND in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to PTA.

 

Proposals may be held by PTA for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the public opening.

 

The successful Contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price within ten (10) days after award of the contract and a two (2) year Maintenance Bond in the amount of thirty percent (30%) of the contract price prior to completion and final payment of the contract.

 

No contractor may withdraw his proposal within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

 

PTA reserves the right to reject any proposal, to waive technicalities or irregularities therein, to delete any bid item or items and to award a contract on the proposal that in their judgment is the most advantageous to PTA.
