Seven candidates introduced themselves and answered questions during “Meet the Candidates Night” at the Ritz Theatre, September 24, to a sparse crowd spread throughout the auditorium.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Heather Thompson stood at the podium with moderator and radio personality Dave Crooks. Crooks is a former member of the state House of Representatives, 63rd District, serving from 1996 to 2008.
Candidates in attendance were Sutton Doty, Democrat, for Commissioner, District 1; Council At-Large candidates Karen S. LeHigh, Independent; Cameron Martin, Republican; Jerry D. Mullis Jr., Democrat; John Pratt, Republican incumbent; J.B. Butler, Republican incumbent; and Amy Burke Adams, from Brazil, State Representative, District 42.
