Election Season Heats Up As Filing Deadline Nears

Filing continues for the May 5 Primary Election in Parke County, with races shaping up for the three at-large seats on the County Council.

Filing for the seats are all three Republican incumbents, J.B. Butler, John Pratt and Tom Stambaugh, along with challengers Cameron Martin and Kirsten Chobanov-Redman. In addition, Jerry Mullis, Jr., has filed on the Democrat ticket.

Other filings for county offices include incumbents Mary Alice Gregg for County Recorder and Kim Shorter for County Treasurer, both on the Republican ticket, and Sutton Doty for District 1 County Commissioner on the Democrat ticket.

Two incumbents have filed for re-election to the Rockville Town Council on the Republican ticket: David Brown and Liddy Dowd-Wright.

Two Democrats have filed for Delegate to the State Convention: Mike Strack and Sutton Doty.

Republican Precinct Committeemen filing on the Republican ticket include Roy Wrightsman, Washington Township; Katie Potter, Penn Township; John Pratt, Union Township; and Matthew C. Helderman, Greene Township.

Filings in the Clerk of the Circuit Court office close at noon Friday, February 7.
