LEIGHTON R. WILLHITE

Leighton Roy Willhite, 101, of Lafayette, and formerly of Rockville, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Indiana Veterans’ Home in West Lafayette.

He was born April 12, 1925, in Bloomingdale, to the late Roy E. and Mabel R. (Smith) Willhite. His wife of 60 years, Neva Joyce Smith Willhite whom he married December 24, 1946, preceded him in death February 11, 2007.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m Saturday, June 20, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Burial with Military Honors by Parke County Veterans will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. Visitation will be 12 noon until 2 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. He had a great desire that all veterans would never be forgotten.
