Notice of Explanation of Project Located in a Floodplain

 

This is to give notice that the City of Clinton has conducted an evaluation as required by Executive Order 11988 in accordance with HUD regulations of 24 CFR 55.20 to determine the potential effect that its activity in the floodplain or wetland will have on the environment.  The City of Clinton has determined that there is not a practicable alternative other than locating the proposed Community Development Block Grant project described below in a floodplain.

 

Water Improvements Construction Project – The proposed work within the floodplain includes the installation of water lines and associated valves. The site will be returned to previous condition following construction, thus no changes to the floodplain are anticipated.  

 

By publication of this notice, the City of Clinton is inviting any final written comments prior to undertaking the proposed action.  All comments should be addressed to the project’s Grant Administrator, Kristy Jerrell, Jerrell Consulting & Grant Administration Services LLC, 3435 E. Woodsmall Dr., Terre Haute, IN 47802, not later than January 22, 2026.
