Thrive Dementia Friendly Training

Businesses in Vigo, Clay, Parke, Vermillion, Sullivan and Putnam counties can better serve individuals living with dementia through specialized training offered through Thrive West Central.
The Dementia Friendly Business Training program, developed by Indiana University Health, equips employees with the tools and knowledge needed to foster a welcoming and supportive environment for people with dementia and their care partners — a growing demographic as the population ages.
“Creating an inclusive and compassionate environment isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s good business,” said Dementia Outreach Specialist Amy Schorr. “Customers remember when they’re treated with dignity and understanding, and they come back.”
