Ryan Powers, a 1995 Rockville High School Alum, “made a difference” as he ran in this year’s 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Sunday, October 8, in support of his wife, Angela and all of the Arthritis Warriors everywhere. This year marked the 45th edition of the race and featured more than 47,000 runners.
Located in Grant Park, Illinois, the Chicago Marathon is a race held every October in Chicago, Illinois. It is one of the six World Marathon Majors. Thus, it is also a World Athletics Label Road Race. The Chicago Marathon is the fourth-largest race by number of finishers worldwide.
Powers, also a 1999 graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, has resided in the Chicago area 24 years, currently lives in Orland Park, works in IT Security, ran cross country in high school and is still running today.
