    Parke County Ministerial Association and the Parke County Pastors’ Prayer Network will host a National Day of Prayer Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. on the Parke County Courthouse lawn.

    Young at Heart Ministry

    The Young at Heart Ministry of the Hillsboro Nazarene Church announces the upcoming Saturday events. Unless otherwise noted, each event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and reservations may be made by calling the church at (765) 798-2350. Activities are open to all older adults in Fountain and neighboring counties. The May 7 event will be Older Americans Month Celebration. Festivities include a performance by the Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School Band at 11 a.m., blood pressure checks, informational tables and a picnic lunch. Persons of all ages are invited to join the celebration. Location for this event is Hillsboro Nazarene Church, 453 S. State Road 341. To facilitate planning, reservations are encouraged by May 3. This event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Community Garden Yard Sale

    Parke County Community Garden Yard Sale will be held Saturday, May 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will be at the Community Garden on U.S. 41 south of U.S. Hwy 36 and is sponsored by the Rockville Rotary Club with all proceeds going to support the community garden.

    Stamp Out Hunger

    Rockville Rotary Club members along with Parke County Food Pantry volunteers will be assisting in the 30th annual National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive in and around Rockville Saturday, May 14. Non-perishable donated goods should be placed next to home mailboxes by 9 a.m. on collection day for pick-up by letter carriers and volunteers. Postal carriers will be distributing special collection bags to patron’s mailboxes during the next couple weeks. The ”Stamp Out Hunger” food drive is the country’s largest single-day food drive. This will be the first time since 2019 the food drive will be in-person due to the COVID pandemic.
