PUBLIC NOTICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF ROSEDALE OF THE TOWN’S
INTENT TO BORROW MONEY FOR THE PURCHASE OF NEW VEHICLES
Notice is hereby given that on June 6th, 2023, the Town of Rosedale, Indiana, passed and adopted a resolution authorizing a loan for the purchase of two new vehicles pursuant to IC 36-9-41. A copy of the resolution is available to the public at the Rosedale Clerk-Treasurer’s office.
It is the Town’s intention to purchase the vehicles using a combination of grant and loan funds from the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, and from local funds. Approximately $61,500 of the cost will be provided through a grant from Rural Development, $18,072.44 will be contributed by the Town, and the remaining funds will be borrowed from Rural Development at an interest rate not to exceed 4% per annum with the loan to be repaid over a period not to exceed 10 years.
Pursuant to IC 36-9-41-6, ten or more taxpayers of Rosedale may file a written petition objecting to the determination to borrow funds. The petition must be filed in the office of the Parke County Auditor not more than thirty days after publication of this notice. The Petition must state the taxpayers’ objections and the reasons why the taxpayer believes the borrowing to be unnecessary or unwise. If such a petition is filed, the County Auditor shall certify a copy of the petition to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance who shall then fix a time and place for a hearing on the matter.
