Reading Bootcamp Donation

READING BOOTCAMP DONATION. Receiving a donation check from Rockville Rotarians for the Mecca Reading Boot Camp program are (from left) Scott and Kathy Simpson and (on right) making the presentation is Rockville Rotary president Janna Scott. The reading program lost most of their learning materials due to the recent fire at the old Mecca school building.  Rotarian Charlie Dorton also announced he was contributing matching funds from his company, Spectrum Printing and Marketing, which brought the total donation up to near $2,000. Reading Boot Camp is a free primary education non-profit organization fostering youth reading skills through phonics and helping install good character, core values and creating powerful thinkers. The presentation was made during a recent Christmas holiday celebration by Rotary held at Shoe’s Ridge Bar and Grill near Rockville. The Rotary Club of Rockville is one of over 35,000 Rotary International clubs world-wide promoting community service, peace and understanding.  The Club normally meets on Monday evenings at 5:30 p.m. at the Thirty-Six Saloon family room.  More information about the Rockville Rotary Club is available from their website: www.rockvilleinrotary.org or on Facebook.
