Joseph Lawrence Woody, Sr., 85, of Bloomingdale, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.

He was born July 27, 1937, on a farm north of Bloomingdale along Sugar Creek to the late Lawrence Edgar Woody and Maxine Ella Nickell Woody. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sue Ann Garrard Woody, whom he married November 22, 1958, in Montezuma; also surviving, two sons, Michael (Angela) of Rockville, Joseph (Cheryl) of Montezuma; one daughter, Marianne (Joe Inge) of Bloomingdale; one brother, John Edgar (Deloris) of Rockville; two sisters, Sarah Jean of Bloomingdale, and Martha Janet (Daniel Scott) of Evansville; four grandchildren, Michelle Lewis (Ty), Michael Wray Woody (Nikki), Mallory Valentine (Kye), and Alexandria Marie Woody; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Joan Myers.

Services were 3 p.m. Thursday, August 18, in Gooch Funeral Home,  Rockville, with Pastor Ashton Stewart officiating. Burial with military honors by Parke County Veterans followed in Bloomingdale Friends Cemetery. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Bloomingdale Community Center at P.O.
