Nestled in the country side of Parke County a family project turned into a wood and resin jewelry business. Kori Thornton is the owner of Cedar Valley Design. In 2019 while working on a walnut table with her husband, she had a thought that maybe she would make something out of the resin. She had been using it to seal the deep knots of the table and wood when the idea came to her. Thinking she invented something new, she began researching. She says that she just felt a push to keep going even though she quickly realized that there were already people making this type of jewelry.
