During the Parke County Council meeting Thursday, April 14, the Parke County Assessor and the Circuit Court Clerk shared some important information we want to highlight for residents.
Katie Potter, county assessor, presented an update including Form 11’s will be going out April 25, noting there will be increases across the board. She wanted to also make taxpayers aware that does not mean there will be dramatic increases in taxes and appeals can be made in the office if needed. She announced that personal property forms are due by May 16 which applies to businesses, farmers and such.
Henry Harper, Clerk of the Circuit Court, shared early voting is going well and they have had 127 votes cast at present. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 to noon April 23 and 30 along with May 2. Pick up for equipment for polling locations is May 2 from noon to 4 p.m.
