Early Morning Fire
MORNING FIRE. The Rockville Fire Department was dispatched at 3:05 a.m. Friday, January 28 to the old White Horse Café/Benjamin’s Banquet Hall to reports of moderate smoke and flames on the roof and eaves of the building. The firefighters entered the building to high smoke conditions. They were able to extinguish the flames found in the attic area. The investigation is ongoing, and damage was contained to the middle of the main dining area. (photo credited to C.J. Gould)
We were really excited to eat at Benjamin’s restaurant in Rockville today while we were at the Covered Bridge Festival we were really saddened to see that it was burnt to the ground. We come from Monticello Indiana and are hoping you are planning on rebuilding. This place was the best.Best regards
