Public Notice – Ordinance 2021-14, Parke County, Unauthorized Alteration of County Property

ORDINANCE 2021-14

 

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE UNAUTHROIZED ALTERATION OF COUNTY PROPERTY

 

WHEREAS, it has  been  brought  to the  attention  of the  Commissioners  of Parke County, Indiana that there has recently been multiple unauthorized alterations of public property within Parke County, Indiana; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parke County Board of Commissioners are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of county owned property; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parke County Board of Commissioners have determined that public welfare and safety is benefitted by the prohibition of the unauthorized altering of public property including but not limited to physical structures such as buildings, bridges, road signs, etc.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Parke County, Indiana:

 

  1. That upon passage of this Ordinance and publication thereof, it shall henceforth be prohibited for an individual or group to alter any publicly owned property including but not limited to bridges, buildings, road signs, etc. without the expressed authorization of the Parke County Board of Commissioners; and

 

  1. That failure to abide by said ordinance may result in the citation of a Class C Infraction with a fine of a sum not to exceed $500.

 

Unanimous consent of Parke County Commissioners who were present on the 20 day of December 2021 to consider the ordinance on the same date as introduced.
