The Town of Mecca’s Park Board has recently been awarded a substantial grant in the amount of $76,730 to put toward the park project. These grant funds are awarded through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).
The LWCF grants come from federal offshore oil lease revenues. The town originally applied for the grant in September 2020 with the help of Kristy Jerrell of Jerrell Consulting and Grant Administration. However, due to COVID the notification process was delayed.
