Notice to Contractors—Invitation to Bid Asphalt Milling & Resurfacing on Various Streets
Rockville, Parke County, Indiana
Sealed bids will be accepted until 12:00 noon on Friday, March 12, 2021. Bids submitted after this time will not be accepted. Address bids to Town of Rockville (c/o Mr. Jeff Eslinger), P.O.Box 143, 103 W. High Street, Rockville, IN 47872. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at the special bid opening scheduled meeting on Friday March 12, 2021 at 12:00 noon.
This project is comprised of the milling of multiple streets existing asphalt surfaces and replacing these surfaces with new asphalt. Other tasks include raising water valves, adding ADA access ramps, and street paint markings. The Town of Rockville reserves the right to increase, decrease, or completely eliminate quantities as set forth in the Bid Schedule of Prices.
In order to be eligible for award of Town of Rockville contracts, the bidders must provide documentation of the qualified and proven experience in the following work classifications; Earthwork, Aggregate Base, Temporary Traffic Control, Concrete Flatwork, and road base and asphalt repairs. The Town of Rockville may reject bids from bidders who have not shown the necessary qualifications for this project.
This is a public works project. All bidders shall be compliant with all tax laws and the successful bidder shall carry Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance in accordance with State laws.
Each bid must be submitted on the prescribed form completely filled out and signed, in a sealed envelope, clearly marked that it is a bid, and have the bidder’s name and the project title on the outside of the envelope. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable the Town of Rockville, in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid submitted. Each bid must also be accompanied by a fully executed Non-Collusion Affidavit Form. Failure to provide these documents will result in disqualification of the bid.
The Town of Rockville reserves the right to reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements and may reject for good cause any or all bids on a finding of the Town of Rockville that is in the public interest to do so; and to accept the bid which is in the best interest of the Town of Rockville. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for opening. No pre-bid meeting is scheduled for this project.
