Public Notice – Parke County, Ordinance 2020-06

ORDINANCE 2020-26

AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS

WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Commissioners of Parke County, Indiana that there is a need for traffic regulations and/or “stop signs” on multiple through streets in the unincorporated town of Bridgeton, Indiana: and

 

WHEREAS, the Parke County Boared of Commissioners are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of roads/streets within the unincorporated towns of Parke County, Indiana; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parke County Board of Commissioners have determined that public safety and welfare is benefitted by the placement of traffic regulations and/or stop signs in the unincorporated town of Bridgeton, Indiana.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Parke County, Indiana:

 

  1. That upon passage of this Ordinance and publication thereof, the Parke County highway Department shall place traffic “stop signs” on the following intersections in the unincorporated town of Bridgeton, Indiana ( see attached Exhibit A and B); and

 

  1. That the failure to abide by traffic regulations including lawfully placed “stop signs” is governed by I.C. 9-21-8-32, which is incorporated herein by reference as the punishment for failure to abide by said “stop signs” placed in accordance with this ordinance.
