Wednesday, November 11, the junior high spell bowl team came up with a fifth-place finish in the state-wide competition among Class 4 schools. The contest is sponsored each year by the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP). The Panthers were coached by English teacher Lisa Harmon. She said, “We were surprised, but very excited about being invited to the state finals. This is my first time as an academic coach that this has happened at the junior high level. I love the excitement and dedication of these kids even through all of the pandemic challenges.” Pictured are RPJHS spellers, (front row from left) Marley Kilzer, Lizzy Leitgabel and Carson Sutton; (back row) Rhylie Cannon, Annie Campbell, Jenna Batty and Charlie Belcher.
