Ordinance 2020-16
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #2009-12 TO REQUIRE REAL ESTATE OWNERS TO ENSURE THAT ANY TRANSIENT MERCHANT CONDUCTING BUSINESS ON AN OWNER’S REAL ESTATE MUST POSSESS A VALID TML ISSUED BY PARKE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Ordinance #2009-12 requires that any Transient Merchant conducting business in Parke County, Indiana must have a valid TML issued by the Parke County Auditor’s Office and;
WHEREAS, property owners are in a better position to ensure Transient Merchants that are conducting business on said property owner’s property hold a validly issued TML and;
WHEREAS, the County Commissioners have determined that a penalty should be imposed for a property owner’s failure to ensure a Transient Merchant that is conducting business on said property owner’s property possesses a validly issued TML prior to conducting business and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Parke County, Indiana that:
- The penalty for a property owner’s failure to ensure that any Transient Merchant that is conducting business on said property owner’s property has a validly issued TML prior to conducting business shall be a fine of $500, said fine shall be imposed per occurrence per day (i.e. every separate violation on every separate day shall result in a separate $500 fine);
- That in all other respects Ordinance #2009-12 shall remain in full force except as specifically amended herein.
Unanimous consent of Parke County Commissioners who were present on the 17th day of August, 2020 to consider the ordinance on the same date as introduced.
