Public Notice – Parke County, Town of Rockville, 406 S. Jefferson Street Rockville
The Town Council of the Town of Rockville, Indiana, upon due publication of this notice as required by I.C. 5-3-1 and I.C. 36-7-4-604, shall hold a public hearing on August 10, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. at 103 W. High Street Rockville, Indiana 47872 (Town Hall) to address a proposed amendment to the zoning map; whereby, 406 S. Jefferson Street, Rockville, Indiana would be rezoned from I to R-1. Full Legal Description attached hereto as exhibit A.
A copy of this proposal is available for examination prior to the hearing at Rockville Town Hall 103 W. High Street, Rockville, Indiana 47872. Written objections to the proposal that are filed with the Clerk-Treasurer before the hearing will be considered at the hearing. Oral comments concerning the proposal will also be heard at the hearing. The hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
EXHIBIT A
Part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 7, in Township 15 North, Range 7 West, described as follows, to-wit: Commencing at the southeast corner of Lot Number 101 in the Original Plat of the Town of Rockville, Indiana, running thence south 89 degrees and 15 minutes West along the South line of said Lot 101, 234 chains to the northwest corner of the tract herein conveyed which is the northwest corner of the tract bought by George Thorneburg from John Bullion and wife (see Deed Record 61, page 523) and also bought with other lands by said Bullion and wife from Julia Marrow (see Deed Record Vol. 61, page 180): thence south 52 seconds east along east line of Hunt’s land 55 feet; thence east parallel to the north line therein 2.34 chains to the point due south of the beginning corner: thence north to the place of beginning.
Also, the right of ingress and egress over the small tract of land immediately east of the tract herein described and west of Rockville and Greencastle State Road.
ALSO, beginning at a locust post 55 feet south of the southeast corner of Lot 101 in the Original Plat of the Town of Rockville, which post is the corner of a piece of land deeded to Charles O. Crafton and Mollie E. Crafton, his wife, by Nancy Shortridge as shown in Deed Record No. 89 page 526 in the Recorder’s Office of Parke County: thence north, 44 degrees 30 minutes east 45 feet to an iron bolt, from which a fire hydrant bears north 70 degrees east 44.33 feet and from which bolt the northeast corner of the Crafton house measures 27.85 feet and the southeast corner of the Crafton house measures 28.30 feet: these north 44 degrees 39.3 feet to the southeast corner containing 2/100 of an acre, more or less.
*That Mildred E. Smith and Cecil I. Smith were husband and wife when they acquired said real estate and that they were living in coverture at the time of the death of Cecil I. Smith on April 3, 1994.
