Southwest Parke Discusses Graduation, Back-To-School

The Southwest Parke Community School Board met Wednesday, July 8, at Riverton Parke High School and approved a plan to begin in person classes August 10. The plan incorporates recommendations from the state and other entities for safety measures with COVID-19. The board also approved an Online Academy plan as an alternative for parents to consider for their children.
The board met at the larger Riverton Parke High School Cafeteria to allow for social distancing for the public, and safety was clearly a priority for school personnel. Board President Darrek Davis noted they expected lots of questions about the plan for reopening schools, and he encouraged attendees to share their concerns.
