It was either fake news or “much ado about nothing” as Shakespeare said, but rumors on social media hinted at a possible “protest” on the Courthouse Square in Rockville yesterday evening.
In response, the Rockville Police Department provided this post on its Facebook page: “The Rockville Police Department along with the Parke County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police have had Officers in the area in response to rumors that Protestors were on their way to Parke County to Protest as they did in other areas. NO THREATS HAVE BEEN VERIFIED OR PRESENTED! Please do not add to the rumor mill! No Police Agency is closing businesses early or warning anyone of any potential threats! Please Keep Calm! Please report valid suspicious Activity to any of the Police Agencies when you see it!”
