GRANT USED FOR DENTAL HEALTH
ELKS AID DENTAL HEALTH. The Rockville Elks Lodge 2471, through a $2,000 ELKS National Foundation Spotlight Grant, provided 62 Parke/South Vermillion Head Start students with backpacks loaded with dental hygiene materials, a blanket and individual copies of dental health books. Rockville Elks 2471 Youth Activities Committee members Alisa Wilson, Lisa Kneeland and Bill Sauter developed the grant project through the Grants Coordinator. Wilson and Sauter presented a dental hygiene lesson then read “The Berenstain Bears Visit The Dentist” by Stan and Jan Berenstain to the Head Start students before the group passed out the dental hygiene loaded backpacks. This program is a part of the ELKS community support to increasing literacy in our local community. (photo submitted)
