Reception for Justice Planned

Rockville American Legion is hosting an event sponsored by Parke Circuit Court Judge Sam A. Swaim and the Parke County Community Foundation for an informal reception for Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steve David, October 21 at 4 p.m., Hors d’oeuvres will be provided.

Justice David will be in Parke County in preparation for the Indiana Supreme Court’s traveling oral argument, which will be October 22 at Parke Heritage High School.

Prior to becoming the 106th Indiana Supreme Court Justice, Justice David enjoyed 28 years of military service and 15 years as a trial court judge in Boone County.

Following his graduation from law school in 1982, he served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps on active duty until 1986 and reserve duty until 2010. His service included two post 9-11 mobilizations in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He served as trial counsel, defense counsel, Military Judge and Commander. He graduated from the Army’s Command and General Staff College, the Military Judges School, and the Judge Advocate General’s Basic and Advanced Officer’s Course.

The public is encouraged to attend.
