Once again the Advertising and Creative Writing staff members at the Parke County Sentinel have been honored for their outstanding work by Hoosier State Press Association at their Indiana Newspapers Advertising Executives Association, Hoosier State Press Association 2019 Advertising Contest.
In awards ceremonies held Friday, September 13, in Greenwood, Kelly Nelson, Graphic Artist and Advertising/Sales Coordinator was honored with a “Best of Show” award for her ad created for Family Health and Help Center in a back to school promotion. She was also honored with a first place in the Food and Beverage Category with her ad for C & K Liquors.
First Place honors also went to Nelson and Lisa Wood, Sentinel Business Manager and News Coordinator with their full page for Senior Care, Older Americans Month; and for a Special Topic Page for Memorial Day Remembrances. This brings to a total of 38 awards granted to Nelson during her tenure at the Sentinel. Congratulations also go to Family Health and Help Center and to C & K Liquors as well.
A third place award went to Nelson also, for her political ad on behalf of Brandy Asher, Rockville Clerk Treasurer.
Since 1933, Hoosier State Press Association has helped coordinate the interests of daily and nondaily newspaper members. Through HSPA, newspapers move in a united effort for the advancement and protection of the newspaper industry. In a word, the purpose of the association is to safeguard and advance the newspaper profession and business in the state of Indiana. A rich part of this charge is the work of helping to continue to educate and reward the efforts of newspaper employees.
