Summer State Road Work Projects in Full Swing

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces an intersection improvement project on State Road 63, just north of I-74, will begin on or after Monday, June 10. This project includes realigning the left turn lanes in each direction on S.R. 63 to C.R. 1650. The safety project intends to improve driver visibility for motorists making left turns across S.R. 63.

There will be a detour for S.R. 63 northbound traffic wanting to turn left onto C.R. 1650. They will follow S.R. 63 to U.S. 136 and then back on southbound S.R. 63.

This project was awarded to Milestone Contractors, L.P. for $451,400. This is scheduled for completion at the end of July.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces our INDOT maintenance crews will be doing spot paving on State Road 26 in Warren County beginning on or after Monday, June 10, weather permitting. S.R. 26 will have lane restrictions in the area they will be working between State Road 55 and U.S. 41. This work will continue through Thursday, June 14 from approximately 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces State Road 28 will close Monday, June 10, west of Romney. This work is scheduled to last through Thursday, June 14. INDOT maintenance crews will be replacing numerous pipes between State Road 25 to U.S. 231, weather permitting.

The official detour will utilize S.R. 25 and U.S. 231. Residential traffic and access to businesses will be maintained.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces Putnam County Road 325 West over I-70 will close on or after Thursday, June 13. The contractor will be overlaying the bridge deck. This project has a 30-day scheduled closure.

This project was awarded to RAM Construction Services of Michigan, Inc. for $1.2 million. This project includes thin deck overlays on the I-70 Bridge over Deer Creek (34.5 mm) and over Mill Creek (49 mm). The I-70 bridge work will begin after July 8.

INDOT reminds motorists to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
