Wright, Woodard are Honored by Elks Lodge

The Rockville Elks Lodge 2471 has selected Makaylee Wright of South Vermillion and Gage Woodard of North Vermillion as their September Teenagers of the Month.

 

MAKAYLEE WRIGHT

Wright, 18, is the daughter of Jason and Erica Wright of rural Dana and a senior at South Vermillion.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, Academic Excellence and the Lady Wildcat softball team. She participated in the clean-up of the Clinton Community Recreation Center following vandalism of the gym and served at Central Elementary School’s Grandparents’ Day. Wright also participated in the Wabash Valley’s Serve the Valley Day at Ben Franklin Elementary School and volunteered at the Ernie Pyle Firemen’s Festival for the Ladies Auxiliary.

Her hobbies include travel softball and spending time with her animals and her family.

GAGE WOODARD

Woodard, 18, is the son of Scott Woodard and Angie Johnson of Newport and a senior at North Vermillion.

At North Vermillion, he is a four-year member of the football team, basketball team and track team, as well as a three-year member of National Honor Society and a host on Channel Four Falcon News.

The Elks Teenager of the Month program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recogni­tion to outstanding teens in the area. They are selected by the par­ticipating high schools in the juris­diction of the sponsoring lodge. Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection of Teenagers of the Month.
