Rockville Clean-Up Day Saturday
The fall clean-up day for the Town of Rockville is scheduled Saturday, September 15, but one update needs to be made. Non-working appliances should NOT be brought to the town clean-up day, but instead should all go to a Tox-Away Day event at Parke County Fairgrounds.
The Town of Rockville Clean-Up Day will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the pole yard where South Jefferson and South Virginia meet, by the Firehouse and Police Station. In the spring, residents filled four dumpsters, with lots of old furniture, mattresses, other household items and lots of other things that just needed to go away. Having the town cleaned up will be beneficial for everyone.
The Solid Waste District Tox-Away Day at Parke County Fairgrounds is the same day, starting at 8 a.m., and they are prepared to accept old appliances, so please take them there instead of bringing them to the town. No electronics will be accepted by the town this time either. Clean up everything at once, but take any toxic items, and appliances, etc., to the fairgrounds.
Specific questions can be directed to the Rockville Town Hall at (765) 569-6253.
